Extensions in Chromium

For the past few weeks, myself and a few others have been looking into how extensions might work in Chromium. Last Wednesday, we published a design doc with the beginning of our plan.

If you're an extension developer or user, we'd love to hear your feedback. You can reach us at #chromium on irc.freenode.org or chromium-dev@googlegroups.com.

Just manage to add the ad blocking extension so that people are willing to use Chrome. As the users basis will grow, other extension requests will emerge.

Hi Aaron, I've tried to download Chrome a few times but it never wants to install on my Dell Dimension XP. It seems some parts of the program are always missing after the download. Can you give me any help with this problem as I certainly would love to use this new Browser. Thanks.

Maybe add addons complatible with Adblock Plus,Greasemonkey.

I understand the desire to have adblock. Is it realistic to ask a company that makes money selling ads to allow this add on?

Who needs an ad blocking extension when you have www.admuncher.com? Works with any software installed on your PC.

Really good,
will you develop ad extension similar to "Customize Google"

As an academic, Zotero is an amazing Firefox addon. Zotero is the only reason stopping me from switching to Chrome. Is there any way Zotero and Google can work together on this?

many thanks

Wow, I've never seen Zotero before.

That looks like a very powerful and useful extension!

This sort of thing should be possible in Chrome's extension system, but I've added Zotero to the list of extension developers to reach out to when we get closer to being able to have them start working.

I'm such a Chrome fan but since I heard about Zotero switched back to Firefox. Could you please develop an extension?

We need RTF with copy/paste. That is the only reason I still have to use IE.

I would like to use Chrome exclusively, but am also held back because I rely on Zotero for academic purposes.

Same here - Zotero is the main reason I still open Firefox (well, that and the RTM plugin for gmail).

Zotero, Zotero, Zotero!

As scientific, I use Zotero to store, classify and comment the .pdf articles I read. I would switch to Chrome only if you can include such functionnality.

Zotero is outstanding tool incorporated to Firefox for academic purposes. On the other side, chrome browser seems to be faster then Firefox. I think it would be best to make zotero plugin for chrome for a number of users. In such a way, many users can migrate from firefox to chrome-browser...

Yes Zotero is so useful no browser will be complete without it. Congratulations, chrome is the fastest on my computer. however, i must return to my old browser to use zotero!

I must add me to this list. Chrome is great, but i need Zotero for my work as much as i need the browser. So i can switch, as soon as Zotero is working on chrome.

I switched to Chrome since it has the adblock extension, but I still open Firefox for the Zotero addon. If you could do something about that, I really think that I will not be the only one to only use Chrome.

I'd like to echo support for Zotero, though they list a host of reasons why it would be difficult to move the extension to another browser.

Another vote for Zotero. It's the only thing stopping me from switching to Chromium.

You made a few excellent points there. I did a search on the topic and hardly got any specific details on other sites, but then happy to be here, seriously, thanks.
